Cabin
- The dynamic design makes the Terra Variant unmistakable – angular, striking, powerful. The forward-sloping hood and the side-mounted suction pipe give the operator a perfect all-round view from the cabin – for even greater safety in the field and on the road.
- The proven HOLMER Comfort Cabin II offers relaxed machine operation around the clock on the Terra Variant. Thanks to the hydrodynamic cabin suspension, shocks are effectively reduced, guaranteeing optimum driving comfort. The excellent sound insulation reduces the noise level to a maximum of just 65 db.
Ergonomics
- All controls are user-friendly and ergonomically arranged. The generous amount of space with numerous shelves conveys a feeling of personal freedom at the workplace. The HOLMER SmartDrive operating concept and various driver assistance systems make your day-to-day work much easier.
Driver’s seat
- The ergonomic seat from GRAMMER offers maximum driving comfort for continuous use. It automatically adjusts to the driver’s weight, absorbs shocks and ensures a comfortable climate thanks to active seat ventilation. In combination with lumbar support and effective impact reduction, you stay relaxed and focused at work. On cold working days, the Terra Variant’s standard seat heating provides additional comfort.
HOLMER SMARTDRIVE
- HOLMER SmartDrive is the intuitive operating concept for HOLMER machines. The combination of touch terminal, joystick, jog dial and three-point control panel ensures that every desired function can be accessed quickly and easily. Freely programmable buttons and shortcuts ensure relaxed working. The integrated vehicle diagnostics also enable rapid service support.
- HOLMER EasyTouch – the 12.1-inch touch terminal provides all information at a glance and makes working easy and safe. Vehicle and superstructure functions are displayed directly in the HOLMER EasyTouch terminal. On both Terra Variant models, operation of the slurry technology is fully integrated in the HOLMER EasyTouch.
GPS STEERING SYSTEM
- Steering guidance systems relieve you by helping to save operating resources and preserve resources through precise boundary turns. Already processed tracks can also be recorded with centimeter accuracy and reused for subsequent passes.
- Depending on the steering system, AB lines can be used for easy parallel driving, and A+ lines for stubble tillage with a pre-set angle to the working direction. For boundary turns in contour mode, adaptive curves are possible, and identical curves can be used for one-time obstacle avoidance.
LIGHTING
- The lighting concept of the Terra Variant makes night as bright as day. Even during night shifts, optimal visibility is guaranteed. The machine’s working area is illuminated 100% by LED headlights, ensuring maximum safety when suctioning or monitoring the attachment – especially at night. With up to 3,400 lm each, the LED headlights provide excellent illumination in both the field and on the road.
- The four high-performance LED low and high beam headlights, which come as standard, are equipped with daytime running light rings and ensure safe road driving.
- With over 50,000 lm, the Terra Variant turns night into day. The headlights installed on the slurry tank additionally illuminate the attachment area.
Engine
THREE-POINT
DRIVE
Engine
- Power
The Mercedes-Benz engine (435 hp / 320 kW or 652 hp / 480 kW) provides sufficient power in all areas of application and for all operations. A low-speed concept enables maximum torques of 2,100 or 3,100 Nm at 1,300 rpm. The automotive speed control ensures that all parameters are optimally coordinated. - Fuel consumption
The power-dependent, automotive speed control of the diesel engine ensures that it always operates at optimum fuel consumption. Driving speeds can be preselected and maintained using cruise control. The speed of the diesel engine is automatically reduced when driving on the road. - AdBlue
The Terra Variant meets the Stage V emissions standard. AdBlue helps to protect the environment. - Cleanliness and maintenance
The Terra Variant’s diesel engine is located in front of the front axle, where the air is cleanest. The engine draws in clean fresh air, especially in dusty applications. To clean the radiator elements, the Terra Variant is equipped as standard with a hydraulically reversible fan with an intelligent control system.
THREE-POINT
- The Terra Variant 435 is equipped with a Category III three-point linkage, which can easily lift attachments up to 3 t. The Terra Variant 650 features a Category IV three-point linkage, capable of effortlessly lifting all attachments. The fully hydraulic, swiveling rear lift of the Terra Variant has been specifically designed for professional slurry application. Through two or a single horizontally positioned swivel cylinder and mounting on the main frame, the entire three-point linkage is automatically swiveled to the left or right.
- All connection points between the vehicle and the attachment are always aligned in a straight pull during field work, thanks to the fully swiveling frame, even in low-impact mode. This ensures that the material can optimally absorb the forces during slurry application – maximizing the durability of the components. The three-point freewheel is easily adjustable via the terminal and can be activated using the joystick.
DRIVE
- Driving comfort is at the heart of the development of the Terra Variant. Both the hydrostatic drive in the Terra Variant 435 and the power-split transmission in the Terra Variant 650 enable continuously variable driving from 0 to 40 km/h on the road and from 0 to 30 km/h in the field. The fine dosage guarantees extremely efficient power transmission with maximum pulling power.
- Both vehicle models are equipped with a generously dimensioned brake system: The Terra Variant 435 has low-maintenance drum brakes, while the Terra Variant 650 has powerful disc brakes. An optional air brake system is available for the use of trailed attachments.
FRONT AXLE SUSPENSION AND SLOPE SUPPORT
THE TRAC CONCEPT
FRONT AXLE SUSPENSION AND SLOPE SUPPORT
- The unique HOLMER front axle suspension with slope support and fully automatic, continuously variable level control ensures safety and consistently high driving comfort. In conjunction with the wheelbase of 4.26 or 4.76 m and the wide Terra tires, the Terra Variant masters slopes with maximum driving stability.
- For optimum adaptation to the terrain, both vehicles have a pendulum-mounted front axle with full freedom of movement. The slope support pressure can be locked on the Terra Variant 435 and adjusted on the Terra Variant 650. To ensure maximum driving comfort, the suspension remains active even when the slope supports are locked.
THE TRAC CONCEPT
The protection of agricultural soils is our goal. A low vehicle weight, a high rollover speed, a carried load (as opposed to a towed one) and the right driving strategy are the decisive factors. The large-volume tires complete the Trac concept.
- Maneuverability
With a turning radius of just 6.8 or 11.0 m and two planetary steering axles, the Terra Variant is extremely maneuverable. The long wheelbase and the specially adapted frame also guarantee optimum stability in any position. - Superstructure space
When working with heavy loads, it is important that the superstructure space is ideally positioned on the carrier vehicle. The engine in front of the front axle serves as a counterweight to attachments at the rear. - Tires
The Terra Variant can be equipped with MICHELIN CerexBib tire technology. This enables a low internal tire pressure of at least 1.2 or 1.8 bar with a contact area of up to 0.87 or 0.84 m² per wheel. - Low-impact mode
The offset driving ensures that each area is rolled over only once. Each wheel has its own track. The four equally sized wheels distribute the weight evenly. Payload and towing force are transmitted over a wide area via the large contact areas of the tires in the gentle drive – with optimum slip values at the same time. This ensures real soil protection.
