New HOLMER setup in the far north - SSO Agrimarket is the new sales partner in Finland

09.02.2013

At the beginning of this year the SSO Group, Suur-Seudun Osuuskauppa, Agriculture and Garden Technology Division (Agrimarket) in Salo took over sales, service and spare part provision for the HOLMER machine range in Finland.

The prevailing conditions in the field of sugar beet have changed significantly over the last few years. The cultivation area of sugar beet has fallen from 19,000 ha to 10,000 ha, and the actual areas under cultivation have become concentrated into a few businesses in the south of Finland. Only one of what were previously three sugar refineries remains.

"There is no need for panic," according to the Managing Director of the Agriculture & Garden Division of SSO, Jouni Oksanen. "The customer structure is changing rapidly and the operations in Finland are increasing in size from year to year. In the meantime, an acreage of 400 ha is no longer unusual in Finland. High-performance and reliable agricultural machines are increasingly shaping customers' requirement profiles. Now that global sugar production has fallen below consumption levels, the sugar beet has once again raised interest, also in northern Europe."

The trend towards 6-row self-propelled harvesters and to loading and cleaning technology substantiates Jouni Oksanen's comments.

The TERRA Variant, as a high-performance system vehicle, is also an interesting HOLMER product for the more than 10,000 milk and cattle farms, as well as a good 12,000 chicken farms for the recycling of organic materials.

"The tradition and the excellent product image of HOLMER technology compliments this development and offers great potential for the reinforcement of this image advantage in the Finnish market," says Janne Tuominen, responsible for Agricultural Technology Sales.

With a widespread network of subsidiaries in south west Finland, Agrimarket can be "on-site" whenever they are needed, and can therefore ensure prompt service and a quick supply of spare parts, according to Janne Heininen, who is responsible for Spare Parts and Customer Service.

HOLMER is a modern, medium-sized mechanical engineering company specialising in the field of development, production and sale of agricultural harvesting machines.
