MACHINE OF THE YEAR 2016: TERRA DOS T4

04.02.2016

On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, the HOLMER Terra Dos T4 was picked as “Machine of the Year 2016” at the Agritechnica in Hanover. The panel of experts consisting of editors from the dlv-Verlag was particularly impressed by the new 12-row HR 12 lifting unit with a working width of 5.40 metres: Due to the unique automatic EasyLift single-row depth control system, this new working width can be used without restriction.

The Terra Dos T4 proved this with the world record in beet lifting, where 85.6 hectares were cleared within 24 hours. The panel was inspired by the lifting quality, the working speeds of up to 5.6 m/p/h and the low fuel consumption due to the HOLMER EcoPower engine management.

The Terra Dos T4 concept was also impressive with regard to soil protection.  Due to the greater working width of the HR 12, transport corridors which have not been overrun are opened up and can be used to the optimum by the transfer vehicles. With the Terra Variant 600 eco with multi-beet tank MB 35, large wheels and crab-steering, HOLMER offers a complete solution which achieves a decisive reduction in the lifter’s non-productive time. The new tyres on the Terra Dos T4, which is consistently built as a lightweight construction, likewise contribute to protecting the soil.  Here, it is possible to mount either Michelin CerexBib IF1000/55 R 32 CFO or Mitas 1250/50 R32 tyres. On the 2-axle Terra Dos T4-30, internal tyre pressures of max. 1.9 bar can be obtained on the rear axle with Michelin types or even max. 1.7 bar with the Mitas tyres. On the 3-axle Terra Dos T4-40, the two rear tyres can get by with an internal tyre pressure of max. 1.3 bar.

The entire HOLMER team is pleased with the award of “Machine of the Year” – which has now gone to the Terra Dos T4 for the second time since 2014.
