HOLMER Terra Variant 600 eco
The new generation of the Terra Variant is introduced to the Agritechnica exhibition this year by HOLMER Maschinenbau GmbH.
Especially with regard to the rising demands for slurry injection, HOLMER has redesigned the product to improve the strongest self-propelled slurry tanker in the market. One of the novelties can already be seen in the name addition ‘eco’.
Engine technology
With the proven V-8 engine OM 502 LA 3 B/2 of Mercedes Benz with 598 HP / 440 kW and 15.93 l displacement, the Terra Variant 600 eco now meets the emission standard Tier 4i. The vehicle is equipped with the SCR technology by which the emissions are posttreated in the striking, lateral exhaust with the additive AdBlue®. It converts the emissions into pure nitrogen and water, what grants a sustainable protection of the environment.
Due to the improved characteristics of the engine with a torque of 2,800 nm, the vehicle can be operated with an optimum engine rotational speed between 1200 and 1300 rpm. The average consumption values are lowered in this manner up to 10%. The proven cooling system from the predecessor model always guarantees the optimum cooling, also at hot summer temperatures. Under extreme conditions the hydraulic fan reversal clean dust and dirt automatically.
In the course of redesigning the electronics, a separate 12 volts power supply including its own generator and battery has been integrated with the new Terra Variant eco besides the 24 volts vehicle voltage. Therefore ISOBUS uses are available in the full functional extent. Additional voltage transformers are not necessary.
New HOLMER comfort cabin II
Long operating times and high pressure of time characterize the injecting of slurry from today. This requires high performance from the machine as well as from the driver. Hence, the anew developed HOLMER comfort cabin II focuses even more on the driver. The new arched front, rear and side glass panes, as well as the big driver's door provide the driver with a maximum of space and visibility during operation and guarantee an optimum indoor climate in connection with a maximum clarity in field and on the road for the operator.
Now for a maximum suspension quality the hydraulically tiltable cabin is mounted upon a completely new cabin suspension. Two fulcra in the front area and two big elastic dampers in the rear area minimize vibration also in quick rides, this provides total comfort when driving at higher speeds. In connection with the HOLMER front axle suspension best drive
comfort is achieved for driver and machine. Newest insulating materials provide in the cabin for a well-balanced indoor climate including a pleasant volume of maximum 61 dB. On hot days the new, high-capacity climate control cools the inside temperature reliably on the value adjusted by the driver.
HOLMER operating concept
In the new operating concept HOLMER unites intuitive operating system with maximum ergonomics. All relevant functions on the multi function armrest were arranged ergonomically. All performance data are indicated on a 12.1 inches touch-terminal in the side console. Therefore, during work the driver can concentrate on essential functions of the vehicle. All known functions of driving – from crab-steering up to the suction arm automatic fold – are found as usual on the multi function lever. In addition, another toggle switch was integrated for the activation of the HOLMER TerraControl headland management. The operating elements of the three point hydraulics and of the GPS steering system are arranged at the side of the armrest.
Also a new Jog dial in the armrest directly behind the joystick operates the function fields on
the touch terminal easily and allows changing settings during the ride. Via quick access keys
the requested menu can be chosen unerringly.
Active seat for long-term application
For longer working days the optionally available active seat Actimo evolution of GRAMMER guarantees additional ride comfort. It automatically adjusts to the weight of the driver, damps and also offers active seat ventilation. In connection with the pneumatic lumbar support and the active reduction of vibration the driver remains relaxed and highly concentrated on the work. The HOLMER comfort cabin offers by far the best ride comfort for the job.
Security by all-round lighting
In the HOLMER Terra Variant 600 eco a new light package is also available. A lighting concept with up to 19 working floodlights gives night-time operations an optimum view. The area of operations is illuminated with the help of the lateral xenon floodlights and the additional LED floodlights also in the rear area up to 100%. This guarantees highest security with suction processes or the survey of the attachment at night.
Ready for GPS with
Optionally available on the Terra Variant is Trimble Ready™. The vehicle is prepared so that all components can be built up without great effort via Plug & Play. All known field patterns can be saved also while crab steering. For the Strip till procedure a
recording of the trace data is also possible. In addition, with RTK systems a preliminary planning of the tramlines on a computer with capture of the field boundaries is possible.
Three point mount
The fully-hydraulically pivotable three point mount of the Terra Variant has been further redesigned and been developed especially for the professional slurry application. Due to the fully pivotable frame, all connecting points between vehicle and attachment are always on straight tension also in the crab steering mode. For injectors a load or unload system is integrated. Thus, in dry or wet field conditions the driver can load or unload the attachment.
Another innovation is the hydraulic block on the three point mount from BUCHER HYDRAULICS. All important functions are integrated like the closed loop hydraulic BHR, five valves and the functions loading and unloading hydraulics. By a new generation of actuators in the single valves, the control is now even more sensitive and precise. Time and oil amount needed by the attachment can be optimally adjusted during the working process. In addition, the hydraulic components are connected over CAN BUS and able of diagnosis therefore.
Slurry technology
The HOLMER Terra Variant 600 eco is still uses the proven slurry technology of ZUNHAMMER. The double-stored high-capacity slurry pump VX 186-368 QD of VOGELSANGguarantees reliable high suction and pumping capacity from up to 9,000 l / min. At less than 3 minutes the 21 m ³ slurry tank will fill with the help of the 5.70-m-long suction arm, which is also good to bridge wide ditches. For working without pump cavitation all suction pipes are built with an inner diameter of 10 inch.
For a maximum protection of the liquid manure pump, in addition the Terra Variant 600 eco is equipped with the cutting unit RotaCut® RCX-58 H of VOGELSANG. Fibrous materials or foreign objects, as for example grass, straw or stones, are chopped with it reliably or are separated. Besides, the ACC Automatic Cut Control provides for a steady contact pressure between knife and filter for constantly high cutting output.
ISOBUS slurry technology
All functions, like working width, tankfilling, application rate and pump speed are shown clear on the separate ISOBUS terminal WTK field operator 300.
A task controller including order management logs the most important process data like application rate or field information during field work. Moreover, all information can be prepared in the home office and imported into the screen by USB-Stick. Afterwards the vehicle logs all important performance data what simplifies accounts and evaluation of the machines.
These innovations combined with the proven technology of the HOLMER Terra Variant 600 allow an even more efficient and more economic work with slurry injection for the future. The relaxed driver raises performance output with the help of the new intuitive operating concept and the comfort cabin II. Shorter and shorter periods for injecting slurry can therefore be used optimally with a maximum protection of the ground.
