HOLMER creates space for new developments

27.11.2013

From November 2013 HOLMER Maschinenbau, market leader in the sugar beet harvesting sector, is going to take a newly build logistics center in Regensburg. The HOLMER Group is going to centralize its logistics activities on the 5.600m² area, to offer an even better spare-parts-service for their customers. The modern property does not only offer good loading conditions, but it also offers a perfect connection to the international freight traffic on the East-West-Axis via the only 2,5 km distant federal autobahn A3. The property is owned by LAGO A3, a venture of the Schmack Group (Regensburg) and the VIA Group (Munich), which is developing, letting and maintaining the former Südzucker AG areal, with a total area of 26 ha.

The outhousing of the logistics department creates the much needed space for new developments and investments at the parental plant in Schierling/Eggmühl. HOLMER is going to present the new three axles sugar beet harvester Terra Dos T4-40, with lots of innovations, which already had been successfully introduced to the market earlier this year, at this year’s Agritechnica, the world´s number one agricultural trade fair. An important new development is the new powertrain, that sets up a new benchmark in agricultural engineering and that ensures highly efficient fuel usage during the sugar beet harvest.

“Renting the property in Regensburg is necessary, to improve the space situation in our parental plant. Already in next spring, we want to optimize the production of our machines trough a better material flow. But we only bound ourselves to a rental for 2,5 years for a reason. Fundamentally we hold on to the plans, to extend our factory with a new site near the parental plant.” Explains Michael Grüner, COO of the HOLMER Maschinenbau GmbH.
