HOLMER building new premises - Repositioned for the future

21.07.2015

On Friday, 17 July 2015, Mr Wolfgang Bergmann, HOLMER's Managing Director, and Mr Daniel Tragus who represents HOLMER's owner family Ballu signed the purchase agreement for the new company premises of HOLMER Maschinenbau GmbH. The future company headquarters are located on the industrial estate "Am Birlbaum“ in Schierling, just five kilometers away from the current factory premises in Eggmühl. "We are at home in the market town of Schierling. We have our roots here. We want to stay here. For our staff stand for the success of our company - and that is where they are!“, says Wolfgang Bergmann.
Schierling's Mayor Mr Christian Kiendl is pleased about HOLMER's decision to remain loyal to the community and to invest in the future: "We are very happy about this upcoming deal!“

140,000 square meters for the re-alignment of the company

As a consequence, HOLMER has now positioned itself for the future: the new factory premises which have been provided by the municipally owned business of the market town of Schierling, measure 140,000 square meters – equivalent to approx. 14 hectares. 100,000 square meters are to become the new property of the company right away. Regarding the residual area, a specific legal basis for building must be established via land utilization plans and land development plans; the majority of the members of the market town council approved this at their last session, voting accordingly. As soon as this and the development plan become final, the remaining 40,000 square meters will also become the company's property. The agreements were concluded before the Notary Public in Mallersdorf.
In a first step, Logistics and Customer Service will be located on the premises "Am Birlbaum“. As early as 2017, the first spare parts, machines and employees will move to the Schierling industrial estate. Building the new workshops will begin before long, as time is limited. "The Regensburg site where our warehouse is located at present is too far away from Eggmühl and the premises have been leased subject to a contract limited in time“, states Mr Wolfgang Bergmann, explaining the wish to move fast.

The new premises on the Schierling industrial estate provide a number of advantages. One of the decisive criteria was the fact that the premises are located close to transport routes, directly on the B 15 new with its 4 lanes, which considerably improves access to the company for trucks and low-bed trailers. Strategic considerations regarding the orientation of HOLMER Maschinenbau GmbH were also of key importance for Mr Wolfgang Bergmann: "We want to bring together all parts of the company again here in Schierling long-term. At present, we are spread over three sites, as we have simply grown out of the space available at Eggmühl. Moreover, with the new premises, we have a unique opportunity to upgrade all structures and processes and to make HOLMER fit for 'Industry 4.0'."
