Only minor damages after fire in an off-premises warehouse

11.04.2016

On Saturday, 9th of April 2016, at night there was a fire in one of the HOLMER off-premises warehouses in Eggmühl. Luckily, nobody was injured.
The voluntary fire brigades from Eggmühl and surrounding areas had had the fire quickly under control and HOLMER would like to thank all firefighters for their great commitment. Also a lot of colleagues where there working as fire fighters.
The fire broke out in a rented off-premises warehouses. This off-premises warehouse is far away from the head quarter in Eggmühl, so that there was never any danger to the HOLMER production halls.
In the rented warehouse some spare parts and palets were stored. These have been destroyed by the fire. However, spare parts delivery is guaranteed worldwide to the full extent, because it is organised by the HOLMER main spare parts warehouse in Regensburg.
Production 2016 runs as planned and is not affected. In the assembly halls in Eggmühl everything is as usual. No machines were affected by the fire.
The police examines now the off-premises warehouse. There is still no information on the cause of the fire. Also the extend of the damage is not yet known.
The affected off-premises warehouse was used by HOLMER only temporarily, because next year all spare parts will be moved into the new logistics hall. The earthworks for this hall on the new HOLMER premises have already begun.
The HOLMER team would like to express its gratitude to the voluntary fire brigades of Eggmühl and the surrounding areas which have fought against the fire. At the moment the HOLMER team has to wait, until the off-premises warehouse can be entered again, then the cleanup begins.

A big “thank you” to the voluntary fire brigades from Eggmühl and the surrounding areas for the great commitment fighting the fire in the rented HOLMER off-premises warehouse.
