Agrifac took on the National Three Peaks Challenge!

29.07.2019

You may have followed the progress on social media, or heard through the grapevine that the Agrifac UK team who took on the Three Peaks Challenge smashed the three highest peaks of the UK in a time of 23:47 hours!

The gruelling feat started in Scotland as the team started the descent of the mighty Ben Nevis at 8:26am. Under pressure to complete the climb and return back in time to keep on track for completing all three peaks in under 24 hours, the pace was set at an extremely rapid speed, only giving the climbers four hours to climb up and down the 1,345m mountain.

After driving through the night, the foot of Snowdon was reached at around 5am, leaving the team just over three hours to make it to the summit and head back down. Regardless of the tired limbs, eyes, and copious blisters, the team managed to cross the line of completion with 13 minutes to spare!

Throughout the challenge, the team have been raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. To date, the total is at a huge £2,362.99!

Once back down to earth, little time was spared to recover, as the team jumped on the coach ready for the five hour drive down to the Lake District to take on Scafell Pike. Notorious for it's steep incline and slippery rock face from its many natural streams, the team had just three hours to reach the top, and scramble back to the bottom again, before jumping back on the coach for the journey to Snowdon in Wales.
