HOLMER LOGISTICS CENTRE NEW CONSTRUCTION

The new HOLMER company premises in Schierling near Regensburg are 140,000 square metres in size. Here, just five kilometres from the previous location in Eggmühl, the company is repositioning itself for the future. The first construction phase was the logistics centre; the investment amounts to around ten million euros. The official ground-breaking ceremony took place on 28.07.2017. HOLMER Managing Director Wolfgang Bergmann is delighted with the new halls: "Our logistics centre is perfectly located here. Our approx. 40 employees in the logistics area have an optimal working environment, which is designed mainly for our very large spare parts department. The new centre also means our customers benefit from even faster service through improved processes and higher efficiency. We are building up our new location here with heart and soul and passion".

Around 40,000 different articles are stored in the HOLMER spare parts warehouse; HOLMER ships around one million parts all over the world every year. With approx. 7,500 square meters of hall space, the new logistics centre offers sufficient space for all spare parts shipped by the world market leader in sugar beet harvesting technology to China and Chile. Including the canopies and the loading and unloading ramps, the logistics centre covers a total of 9,500 square meters, plus parking spaces and open spaces.

The move from the rented halls in Regensburg to the new warehouse in Schierling began on 5 March 2018. Thanks to the great commitment of the logistics team and the support of other departments and employees from the HOLMER subsidiaries, the move was completed on 15 March 2018. The removal team was thus far ahead of schedule.

Since 19 March 2018, all HOLMER spare parts have been shipped from the new warehouse in Schierling all over the world.

On 12 June 2018, the new HOLMER logistics centre in Schierling was opened with a ceremony.

After only a short time, the new logistics centre is not only a shipping hub but also a backdrop for film shoots, an event location and a training centre - and the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture, Michaela Kaniber, was also on hand to visit.
